Albert Depas was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, and came to the United States at the age of fifteen. At that time he began to study with his father who was also a fine artist of multi-media. Depas then continued studies in fine arts and architecture at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and City College. His atistic work is primarily expressed in oil on canvas, oil pastel and photography. He is also the publisher and executive editor for Show & Tell, a periodical for poets and visual artists. He has read his poetry and exhibited in venues throughout New York City. Embracing universal themes on a metaphysical level, his work seeks to expand societal awareness to understand cosmic law. Depas believes "That an artwork should do at least one of the following: educate the mind, enlighten the spirit, or entertain the senses."
