A Brooklyn native, Clifford S. Harris majored in history at Vassar College
(A.B. 1989) before attending the University of Michigan Law School (j.D.
1992). He practiced securities law for three and one-half years, first at
Sullivan & Cromwell and then at the New York office of the Washington D.C.--
based firm of Arnold & Porter. In 1996, heeding the muse's call, he
abandoned the practice of law to dedicated himself to writing. Since that
date he has supported himself by dogwalking and bartending. He writes poems
about death, the terror of love, and the cacophony of modern existence. He
currently lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
